James started his career with Chelsea making a number of appearances for there Academy and Reserves at Stamford Bridge , James has represented the Republic Of Ireland at under 19 level. In 2007 James left Chelsea to sign for Blue Square Premier Stevenage Borough , he had loan spell with Ryman league Canvey Island for the latter part of the season where he helped them gain promotion. James signed a years extension to his deal at Steveange in July 2008
