Here is what he had to say !
PRO-GK : Dale , you had a period in the middle part of this season where you was left out the team , how did you deal with this and do you think it has made you a better player ?
D.R : well obviously i was dissapointed and i didnt like the decision but i took it in the right way being professional and working hard as i knew that the strange game football is id get back in and when i did i had to take my chance. i also took it as abit of a kick up the back side to be fair and it made me even more determind to succeed. personally i think it has made me a stronger person on and off the field.
PRO-GK :You have been called up to the England C Squad on numerous occasion's now , but with fellow PRO-GK endorsee's Lance Cronin and Adam bartlett illegible , do you think you can go on and establish yourself as the chosen number 1 ?
D.R : i would like to think so only if my performances week in week out for rushden deserve a call up because im so proud to represent england c and be part of the squad. ive got 3 caps now and hope to earn more in the near future.
PRO-GK : Since regaining the number 1 shirt at Rushden , the team's results have vastly improved , most recently with you keeping 7 clean sheets in 8 games! That's a very impressive statistic, what do you put this down to ?
D.R : to be honest we have a team of very hard working players and a defence infront of me that have been outstanding since ive been back. personally i feel ive been more commanding in the sence of being more vocal which brings confidence and a belief that every game you play all you think about is a clean sheet and hope the strikers get a goal at the other end.
PRO-GK : Is there any advice you can give to any young goalkeepers out there wanting to make it in the professional game?
D.R : first thing i would say is to work hard and dont worry too much about making mistakes. another thing i would say is be patient as the hardest thing is getting a chance to play and once you do get that chance be confident and most of all enjoy it.
PRO-GK : What is a typical match day for DR in terms of preparation?
D.R : for a home game it would start by getting up around 9am to watch soccer am and make some cereal. then id have some beans on toast. about half 11 id make some pre match which would normally be chicken pasta and drink plenty of fluid. (not to mention i like my food) then about 12 il start getting ready for the game. half 1 we would meet at the ground. into the warm up i do exactly the same warm up every time i play. away games would be slighty different only because the distances of which we travel to them.
PRO-GK : How pairs of gloves would you normally take with you on match day ?
D.R : i normally always take 2. a brand new pair, and a pair that ive worn in previous games. i dont like to use a brand new pair in game straight away i always wear them on a friday morning in training to get used to them. the gloves i wear in a warm up are always the ones i wear in the game.
PRO-GK : What made you decide to wear PRO-GK ?
D.R : Well when i was at Notts forest a few of the other goalkeeper were talking about this new brand , one had tired them and he said they were decent so i decided to have a look on the website and get in touch with them. They sent me out a pair ive never looked back.I absolutely love them
PRO-GK : If you could sum up your gloves in 5 words what would they be ?
D.R : quality, ledge, sticky, decent, best gloves ive worn !
